RESUMEN
Este trabajo representa una síntesis de varios estudios anteriores del autor sobre el fenómeno al que llama artículo cero en francés, con especial atención al estudio de las restricciones que impone en el grupo nominal donde aparece. El análisis se basa en un abundante corpus, y se dedica, en la primera parte, a poner en evidencia la existencia y las principales propiedades de un artículo tal en las combinaciones verbo de apoyo + GN. La segunda parte relaciona la función del artículo cero con otros fenómenos del grupo nominal, y termina mostrando que las propiedades semánticas de ciertos grupos preposicionales conducen a postular la presencia de un artículo cero.

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to bring together the main claims and results relating to the existence and properties of what the author refers to as the null article in French, with a special emphasize on the constraints it assigns to a noun phrase. The study rests upon an abundant corpus, and starts by bringing out the main properties of such an article in the structure support verb + NP. The second part of the study is devoted to show the link between the null article and other phenomena concerning the noun phrase, and to claim –on the basis of the above mentioned properties– that there is a null article also in such constructions as prepositional noun phrases.
