We are pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of a special issue entitled “New Relational Challenges”. This publication will be under the direction of two guest editors: Clàudia Martori (Universitat de Barcelona) and Iago Rodríguez-Diéguez (Universidade de Vigo).
Its main aim is to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue on how contemporary literature, culture and the arts imagine new relational possibilities and respond to the ethical, political, and affective challenges of our time. Possible topics include (but are not limited to):
- Posthumanism, more-than-human, and hybrid relationalities
- Gender, identity, and the reconfiguration of the subject
- Affects, emotions, and embodied experiences
- Community, solidarity, and alternative forms of social bonding
- New forms of maternity, parenthood, and reproductive narratives
- Care, vulnerability, and dependency in contemporary culture
- Kinship beyond the nuclear family
- Feminist and queer futures
- Literary and cultural responses to ecological and technological change
Research article submissions will be considered only if written in English. They must follow the journal’s templates and be submitted as anonymized files. The expected article length is 4000–8000 words. Please include abstracts, keywords, and titles in both English and Spanish. Authors who are non‑native speakers of Spanish will receive support and supervision from the editorial team.
Film and book reviews, creative writing and other forms of artistic creation, and interviews could be in English or Spanish.
When submitting your article, review, artistic piece or interview, it is essential that you indicate in the section “Comments for the Editor” that your submission is intended for the Special issue: “New Relational Challenges”.
The deadline for submissions is 1 September 2026.
