About the Journal

The Journal of Artistic Creation and Literary Research (JACLR e-ISSN 2340-650X) is a peer-reviewed, free, open-access, biannual publication that provides unrestricted access to its full content. It is an initiative of the SIIM research group at the Complutense University of Madrid, supported by the Vice-Rectorate for Quality of the same institution. It is hosted by REUNIDO and the University of Oviedo.

Aims and Scope

JACLR publishes high-quality, interdisciplinary research in the areas of Anglophone Studies, including comparative literary studies, critical theory, applied linguistics, and semiotics, as well as contributions addressing related pedagogical and educational concerns. In addition to scholarly articles, the journal is committed to promoting artistic practice by featuring original works of literary and artistic creation. JACLR also includes selected contributions from the Complutense Literary Creation Award, along with book and film reviews, and interviews.

The journal maintains a clearly interdisciplinary and international orientation, welcoming contributions from scholars and creators worldwide. It embraces the diversity of cultural, theoretical, and methodological approaches that define the contemporary field of English and American Studies, while upholding the highest standards of academic rigor and originality.

All submissions are processed through the journal’s editorial platform and undergo an initial evaluation by the Editorial Team to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope and quality criteria. Manuscripts that meet these standards are subjected to a strict double-blind peer review process conducted by experts in the corresponding fields.

JACLR is published biannually, in June and December, and each issue features a combination of scholarly articles, creative works, reviews, and interviews. As of volume 13.2 (December 2025) onwards, all content published in this journal is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license. Previous volumes are licensed under CC-BY-NC-SA. The journal is indexed in EBSCO and Latindex, hosted by REUNIDO, the University of Oviedo academic journal platform, and disseminated through various international academic platforms, ensuring broad visibility and impact for its contributors.
