Abstract

This paper is a critical analysis of the treatment of the issue of fragmentation in
the novel The Golden Notebook written by Doris Lessing and first published in 1962. The aim
of this essay is to analyze the topics of social fragmentation and fragmentation of the self
and analyze how they are related to each other. The methodology that has been used for
this essay is a critical analysis of the topic of fragmentation in the novel. For that purpose,
different academic articles and books specialized in the topic, the novel and/or the authoress
have been read.
