Abstract
This article provides an overview of the different literary representations of sir Gawain, one of the key knights of the Round Table. We will approach his evolution, his shifting status as an honorable knight in the Matter of Britain, and which works of literature influence the following portrayals of this character. Plus, special attention will be played to the role of translation in this myth tradition.
