Abstract
The present work joins both disciplines philology and psychology carrying out a study of the concept of journey in literature, in particular of descent into the underworld, as a metaphor of mental illness and transformation. From the perspective of Narrative Medicine, genre that emerges and breaks through in 20th century, an analysis of Just Checking: Scenes from the Life of an Obsessive-Compulsive by Emily Colas and her Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder has been made.
