Focus and Scope

Pathology Archives has as its motive to disseminate a multidisciplinary approach to Pathological Anatomy discipline, emphasizing its importance in daily clinical practice.

In this sense, the journal focuses on the analysis of real clinical cases, without neglecting both doctrinal issues and revisions and updates in Pathology. All of them are powerful tools to promote the quality of knowledge and excellence so demanded by medical society in general.

With this objective, the task of generating quality content, motivating, attractive, updated, concrete and concise and linked to hospital practices has been imposed, also inserting the multi-causal epidemiological vision of medicine.

Likewise, they want to make their pages a forum for discussion where the scientific community can share their results. Which, without a doubt, will lead to progress, both in care and in academics, of the discipline.

Taking into account the technological development achieved by today's society, what better way to achieve this goal and reach the entire specialized scientific community than by publishing your articles directly on an online platform of scientific publications such as OJS?

MAGAZINE SECTIONS

Editorial

Articles will have a maximum length of 1,800 words and up to 2 tables or figures will be accepted. They can be of two types. Scientific publishers. They will consist of a rigorous update or an interesting point on a certain topic.

Opinion editorials. Section where a specific point of view is published on the situation of the specialty.

Articles for this section are only published by invitation. Authors who spontaneously wish to collaborate in it must first consult the Editorial Committee of the journal and consult these rules.

Updates in Pathology

They will be revision papers on relevant and current topics of the specialty, with a maximum length of 2,800 words. In addition, the abstract and an abstract of 150 unstructured words and the corresponding keywords and keywords will be written.

A maximum of 15 bibliographic references will also be included. The number of signatories must not exceed 3. In addition to the text, up to 5 figures or tables will be admitted.

Doctrinal issues

This section includes documents that collect reflections on organizational aspects related to the specialty, from teaching to healthcare practice. It is not necessary for the text to be formally structured, but it should keep the narrative logic. The maximum length of the text will be 3,000 words. A maximum of 15 bibliographic references will also be included. Up to 2 figures or tables will be accepted.

Clinical cases

They are specific case studies relevant to the specialty.

Image gallery

Between 4 and 6 images may be sent as long as they correspond to a particular topic and all accompanied by a caption that clearly and precisely describes the findings to be highlighted. Images taken from other publications will not be accepted.

News

All scientific information, announcements, comments, awards, etc., that may be of interest to the members of the Society, may be sent for dissemination in summarized format. It is recommended that they be sent in good time so that they can be included in a timely manner.

Book review

The magazine will publish the criticism of books that come into its possession at the initiative of the publishers or that are requested from them.

Letters to the Editor

They will make reference to works published in the journal and will contribute opinions, observations or experiences that, due to their characteristics, can be summarized in a short text. The maximum length will be 600 words, neither abstract nor keywords will be included, and up to a maximum of 5 bibliographic references may be included. The maximum number of authors will be 4. 1 figure or 1 table will be accepted.

Original Articles

Empirical works related to any aspect of research in the field of the specialty in the form of scientific work. The maximum length of the text will be 4500 words. The 250-word structured abstract, the abstract, the keywords and keywords, and a maximum of 35 bibliographic references will be added. The recommended number of authors should not exceed six. In addition to the text, up to 6 figures or tables will be accepted.

Reviews

They will be review papers on relevant and current topics of the specialty. The maximum length of the text will be 4,800 words. A summary and an unstructured abstract of 150 words will be added, and the corresponding keywords and keywords. A maximum of 50 bibliographic references will also be included. It is advisable, although not binding, that the number of signatories does not exceed 3. In addition to the text, up to 6 figures or tables will be admitted.

Brief Articles

Summary statement of one or more infrequent or interesting clinical cases that make an important contribution to the knowledge of the pathophysiology, etiology or other aspects of a clinical process. Clinically significant observations based on new or developing technology will receive special consideration. Creative applications of established methods are also encouraged. They should be structured in: Introduction, Description of the clinical case and Discussion. The acknowledgments and bibliography will be included below. The maximum length of the text will be 1,800 words. Additionally, a summary and unstructured abstract of 150 words and the corresponding keywords and keywords will be included. They should not exceed 15 bibliographic citations. It is recommended that the number of authors does not exceed four. Up to 3 tables or figures will be accepted.

Six issues a year of this magazine will be published.

PEER EVALUATION PROCESS

Transparent peer review

Archives of Pathology operates with a transparent peer review process, if the manuscript is published, the name of the reviewers is published at the end of the year.


Anonymity and confidentiality

The editors, authors and reviewers will keep all details of the editorial and peer review process of submitted manuscripts confidential. The peer review process is confidential and carried out anonymously. All details about submitted manuscripts are kept confidential and no comments are made to external parties or organizations on manuscripts under consideration or if they are rejected. Editors are restricted to making public comments on the content of a published article and its evaluation.

When accepting an invitation to evaluate a manuscript, reviewers should keep the manuscript and associated data confidential, and not redistribute it without permission from the journal. If a reviewer asks a colleague to help them evaluate a manuscript, confidentiality must be ensured and their names must be provided to the journal with the final report.

We ask the reviewers not to identify themselves to the authors without the knowledge of the editor. If they wish to reveal their identities while the manuscript is being considered, they must do so through the editor; If this is not possible, we ask the authors to inform the editor as soon as possible after the reviewer has revealed his identity. Our own policy is not to confirm or deny any speculation about the identities of reviewers, and we encourage reviewers to adopt a similar policy.

We regret any attempts by the authors to confront the reviewers or attempt to determine their identities. Reviewers should be aware that it is our policy to keep their names confidential and that we make every effort to ensure this confidentiality.

Regardless of whether a submitted manuscript is ultimately published, journal correspondence, referees' reports, and other confidential material will not be published without prior written consent.
