Abstract

Intestinal neuronal dysplasia is a rare disease, difficult to diagnose, a consequence of alterations of the enteric nerve plexuses with alteration of the motility of the intestine that cannot progress its contents, causing pseudo-obstruction. Described as a condition like Hirschsprung's disease, it was differentiated into types A and B. The case of a male patient with a history of repeated intestinal pseudo-occlusive symptoms who was admitted for hemicolectomy for sigmoid volvulus is presented. The study of the surgical specimen revealed the diagnosis of intestinal neuronal dysplasia.
