Resumen

RESUMEN:
El presente trabajo da a conocer una obra inédita, perteneciente a la sevillana colección particular de Carmen Marroco, inequívocamente atribuible al quehacer del maestro escultor Cristóbal Ramos. Ésta representa a San José sedente con Cristo niño en el regazo. El análisis del medio generador que rodea a esta escultura ha revelado cómo en ella están presentes rasgos que remiten claramente a sintagmas tradicionales barrocos, mientras que al mismo tiempo se adscribe a toda una serie de nuevos presupuestos artísticos, sobre todo desde el punto de vista del uso. Una pieza que queda además encuadrada en un ambiente histórico y estético de todo punto interesante pues es testigo de las transformaciones en las relaciones socio-políticas que se originan dentro del medio cultural y artístico, y que se producen en la España durante el último cuarto del siglo XVIII, en el marco de la Ilustración.

ABSTRACT:
This study reveals the unpublished work belonging to the private Sevillian collection of Carmen Marroco, unequivocally attributable to the endeavors of master sculptor, Cristobal Ramos.This work represents seated Saint Joseph with the Christ Child on his lap. The analysis of the creative means surrounding this sculpture has revealed vestiges that clearly depict traditional Baroque syntagma, while at the same time it ascribes to a number of new artistic premises, above all from the perspective of its usage. This piece is also framed inside a quite interesting historical and aesthetic context, as it bore witness to the transformations of the socio-political relations that arose from within the cultural and artistic environment, which occurred in Spain during the last quarter of 18th century, during the Age of Enlightenment.
