Abstract

First of all, this work is intended to provide an overview of the evolution experienced by the right of Association in Rome, from the Republic to the Justinian period, as a result of the government interventionism. We can observe the change of legislation which occurred at different legal periods. In fact, the regulation will be more or less permissive according to the political interests of the dominant class. Secondly, we will try to establish the connexion between the Roman legislation of associations and corporations and the regulation of the Spanish guilds, especially by the analysis of “El Código de las VII Partidas y “Els Furs de Valencìa”..
