Abstract
This contribution stems from the tribute to a professional and personal career dedicated to Nanclares & Ruiz, held at the Milán Campus of the University of Oviedo in 2026. María Nieves Ruiz Fernández and Fernando Nanclares Fernández, born in 1947, the former in Madrid and the latter in Oviedo, graduated as architects from the ETSA of Madrid in 1970 and 1971, respectively. They have collaborated professionally since 1971, initially in Madrid and, from 1974, in Oviedo. Their career has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Castelao Prize. With this award, the COAA recognizes the professional career of an architect, group of architects, or individuals who have developed their professional career in the field of architecture, urban planning, or any related field, in recognition of their lifelong commitment to the profession and their pursuit of excellence.
