Abstract

Adult education is a field that few people look upon, though it is challenging, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. This article describes part of a dialectic transdisciplinary research focused on a future vision at micro-, mezzo-, and macro-levels. Through an analysis of reality reading, this research bets on the fact that adult learners at the Centers for Basic Adult Education (CEBA) need to become emotionally self-regulating because of their vulnerable condition. The study is based on the general characteristics of obligatory education in the world and afterward on the level of adult education. The main sources so far reviewed are the current lag this demographic group has, the low investment they receive, and the characteristics of individuals struggling to be competitive and integrate to the present society.
