RÉSUMÉ
Cet article met en valeur les perceptions de la vue de Pau, transmites par les témoignages littéraires et artistiques du XVIIIe au XXe siècle. Des premières émotions visuelles, face à la chaîne de Pyrénées, au classement des «Horizons palois», quel rôle ont joué les mots et les images, quelle en a été la teneur? Comment et pourquoi la vue don’t tout le monde peut jouir aujourd'hui résulte d'une construction culturelle et urbanistique complexe? Pourquoi alimente-t-elle aujourd'hui l'image affichée par les instances politiques que sont la municipalité de Pau et le Conseil général des Pyrénées-Atlantiques?

Una vista para todos y para la eternidad. La vista de Pau: de la emoción a la patrimonialización.- Este artículo valora las percepciones de la vista de Pau transmitidas por los testimonios literarios y artísticos de los siglos XVIII y XIX. Desde las primeras emociones visuales frente a la cadena de los Pirineos, clasificadas como horizontes de Pau, ¿qué papel han jugado las palabras y las imágenes y qué contenido han aportado? ¿Cómo y por qué la vista de la que puede disfrutar hoy todo el mundo es el resultado de una construcción cultural y urbanística compleja? ¿Por qué sigue alimentando actualmente la imagen acuñada por las entidades políticas de la municipalidad de Pau y el Consejo general de los Pirineos Atlánticos?

A view for all for eternity. The view of Pau: from emotion to patrimony.- This article highlights the multiple perceptions of the view of Pau as transmitted by literary and visual works from the 18th to the 20th centuries. From the first emotions evoked by the vision of the Pyrenean range to the classification of the horizon as seen from Pau what roles have the words and images played? And what sense have they conveyed? How has this universally accessible view affected the construction of a cultural and urban complex? Why does it continue to nourish the communication images of political entities, the municipality of Pau and the General Council of the Atlantic Pyrenees?
