Abstract

This paper aims to make a comment of the Ordinances of the Consulate of Bilbao of 1737. Bilbao's Ordinances were supplementary law for the resolution of disputes of the Consulates that were established in some Latin American cities by the end of the 18th century. This made it possible that legal customs, initially rhodian-romans, received in the spanish maritime practiced law during all the Middle Ages in the Atlantic area were applied in Latin American's Consulates..
