USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Lletres Asturianes

Introduction

The journal Lletres Asturianes is committed to upholding academic integrity and transparency in the application of artificial intelligence (AI). This policy defines the guidelines for the appropriate use of AI tools by authors, reviewers, and editors.

Core Principles

In line with the guidelines of the COPE Declaration and best scientific practices:

  • AI cannot be considered an author, as it lacks the capacity to assume responsibility for scientific content.
  • AI cannot manage conflicts of interest, copyright, or make ethical decisions.

Guidelines for Authors

  • Mandatory Declaration: Authors must explicitly declare the use of any AI tool in the creation or analysis of their manuscripts, including the software used, its functions, and the sections of the manuscript where it was applied.
  • Responsibility for Originality: Authors are responsible for the originality of the content, even if it was generated or assisted by AI. The material must not infringe copyright or involve plagiarism.
  • Thorough Review: Authors must meticulously review and verify AI-generated content to avoid bias, errors, or inaccuracies.
  • Consequences of Non-Compliance: Failure to comply with this policy may result in the withdrawal of the manuscript, in accordance with the publisher’s procedures and the COPE Code of Conduct.
