Abstract

The aim of this study was to map the research literature on the contribution of games to the process of learning mathematics based on scientific production indexed in the Web of Science over the last 10 years. The search identified 202 articles using the descriptors learn mathematics through digital games. The VOSviewer® software was used to conduct a quantitative bibliometric analysis, while content analysis provided qualitative data quantified from the articles. The results describe the co-occurrence of 33 words that appear at least twice in the studies, followed by five categorizations of these articles. Existing gaps on the topic were identified. It was concluded that one of these gaps focuses on tracking the application of games in mathematics education to verify more consolidated learning outcomes.
