How to Cite
Abstract
The purposes of this paper are to place value on the work of a glossator not too renowned and a little-known work of his authorship and offer a translation into Spanish of such work. It is Vacarius and his work is entitled Summa de matrimonio, a booklet overshadowed by another work of this author of much greater weight and impact: The one known as Liber pauperum. The Summa de matrimonio and the thesis it proposes on the formation of the marriage bond is an eloquent example of the importance of doctrinal debate in the formation and teaching of ius commune and also that the science of medieval European law is mainly the result of the attempt to harmonize Roman Law and Canon Law with each other, but also sometimes Law and Theology with each other.
