Clarifying concepts: pietas and caritas.

Abstract

In this paper we intend to approach the study of the notions of pietas and caritas. We will do an analysis from an etymological perspective, trying to delve into the original meaning of those words. Therefore, from the etymological repertories, doctrinal opinions and testimony of Roman’s sources we try to find the difference in connection with the mentioned terms, as well as to explaining the reason for such difference..
