Abstract

This article provides arguments that justify the importance of evaluation in the practice of emotional education. A wide variety of instruments for measuring emotional intelligence and emotional competencies are presented to be used in the evaluation of programs. The intervention in emotional education requires a rigorous evaluation of the recipients to verify the progress and results attributable to the training received. The instruments presented in this work are based on the different models of emotional intelligence and emotional competencies. In addition, the reasons for using self-report instruments instead of neurophysiological ones for evaluation in the educational context are presented. Some recommendations are offered for the development of instruments for measuring emotions, taking into account sensitivity as a crucial parameter of measurement instruments, along with validity and reliability. The contributions of this work may be of interest to professionals of any level and field of education, as well as to research professionals.
