Abstract

The aim of this study is to assess the sequential patterns of an integrated model which includes learning contextual variables and meta-beliefs in 3 secondary education subjects: Mathematics, Spanish Language and Literature, and Physical Education. 960 schoolchildren (Mathematics, n=325; Spanish Language and Literature, n=307; and Physical Education, n=328) agreed to participate. Three independent Path analyses were conducted, and adjustment measures indicated that all of them were consistent. To further test the model and generalize it, casual invariance was also analyzed. Results suggest that the structure is invariant in the 3 samples to a large degree. These results strongly support the proposed model. Finally, results and pedagogical implications are discussed.
